Zebrapad is a safe space for crossing pedestrians. Does that mean that they normally aren’t save?

A car dominant city. How did this happen?

My body feels rushed when crossing it. Cars have to stop when you pass it but that also means ‘you have to walk when standing in front of it.

It’s a ceasefire between cars en pedestrians.

It’s not a place of interaction. It’s one of the few places you can’t be and interact.
It’s a place for everyone.

Waiting areas. Rush zones

Defined by white stripes crossing the street. Accompanied by sharksteeth and standing signs. Blue.

Relations pedestrians - motorized traffic.

Rules:
For cars/bikes: when pedestrian is closing in on pedestrian crossing, they should stop.
In practice: bikes almost never stop. Often the dodge the pedestrian smoothly.

Pedestrian: be clear in your intentions when closing in on a crossing. You should cross if your intentions seem that you wanted to cross.

The goal of the place is clear and mostly the same to all. Negotiations are therefor easy. Cross it as efficient as possible.
